The effects of core stability training on trunk endurance in boys with autism spectrum disorders
author
Abstract:
Abstract Purpose: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD( identified via deficit of social communication, stereotyped movements and limited interactions. Postural instability is common in children with autism spectrum disorder. The purpose of this study is the effects of 8 weeks core stability training on trunk endurance in boys with autism spectrum disorder. Methods: The research subjects include 32 boys, 6-10 years with autism spectrum disorder, which were randomly divided into 2 groups include experimental and control group. Core stability implemented for 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week, 45 minutes per session and individually in experimental group. To assess trunk endurance used to mcgill Protocol include trunk flexion, lateral flexion and Bearing-Sorenson test. Results: Data analysis derived from independent T-test showed, the 8 weeks core stability training has a significant effect on trunk endurance in experimental group boys with autism spectrum dsorder (p≤0.05). Conclusion: Due to the postural instability in children with autism spectrum disorder and Since, The core Stability, causes decrease postural sway and preservation of correct alignment. Core stability training can be effective program for improvement core muscle endurance and trunk stabilization in the boys with autism spectrum disorder. Therefore it is recommended to perform core stability training on boys with ASD.

full textThe Effect of Endurance Training and Coenzyme Q10 Supplementation on Sleep Quality in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders
Background: Autism is a developmental disorder that impairs social relationships. Sleep disorders are one of the major problems of patients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Objectives: Concerning the need to investigate problems and impairments caused by this disease, the present study aimed at determining the effect of an eight-week endurance training program plus Q10 supplementation on ...
full textThe Effect of a Six-Week Core Stability Exercises on Balance, Strength, and Endurance in Female Students With Trunk Defects
Background: Core stability is the ability of the lumbopelvic-hip complex to prevent spinal instability and return to equilibrium after a perturbation. The special physical condition in students and especially the female ones- makes them prone to Trunk Defects (TDs); thus, it makes them prone to numerous injuries, like problems in balance. The present study aimed to examine the effect of Core St...

Objectives: This study compared the effects of individual and group training on general health and stress of parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Methods: A sample of 75 parents of children referring to Autistic Children Foundation (including 50 parents in two experimental groups and 25 parents in control group) was taken into account. Sample parents were selected through Acce...
full textThe Effect of Six Weeks Selected Core Stability Exercises on the Jumping-Landing Pattern and Trunk Muscular Endurance in Adolescent Volleyball Players with Trunk Defect
Purpose: The anterior cruciate ligament is one of the most vulnerable knee ligaments. The biomechanical and neuromuscular differences of the trunk during sports activities are the main cause of non-collision injury. Therefore, the aim of the present research was to investigate the effect of six weeks selected core stability exercises on the jumping-landing pattern and trunk endurance in adolesc...
